Hashirama’s flashback is more or less over and so is Konoha’s founding story which after all turned out pretty much the way you’d excpect it. Madara’s style of leaving finally disqualified him to be a reliable leader of the Uchiha clan and even more of Konoha imo. His “bigger picture” talking and so on seems to be like a bad excuse to justify his fleed from Konoha and the fact that he isn’t able to tolerate Hashirama’s superiority strenght- and personality-wise.

What I like most in this chapter is, that Hashirama “killed” Madara in a true Shinobi manner in the end. Simple and not OP using a Wood Bunshin and then stabbing him from behind. After all he has the resolve to kill him and to make painful sacrifices to protect his dream, but not to face him while doing so. It fits in Hashirama’s character. Let’s see if/what the other Hokages have to say and how it affects Sasuke.

I thought upon the flashbacks of Hashirama vs Madara.. we all saw hashi laying on the ground or something and Madara being stabbed threw his chest while striking or attacking over hashirama. I don’t have the scans but you know what I mean.. Also. In these so-called flashbacks before this chap we also see madara wearing his War attire when using the Kyuubi to fight hashirama.

Im glad this chapter answered how Madara “Died” but I’m even more confused about something. Back when Ohnoki’ had a flash back when fought Madara as a kid/teen other Hidden Villiages began to form but there’s a problem with that. In this chapter Hashirama stated that other countries began following the Villiage system after Madara left the village. So when the hell did Madara fight Muu and Ohnoki? I assume it was sometime after Hashirama became hokage since Madara was still in the village for a time so it would make sense for him to be wearing a headband still but there is still no other hidden village that existed until after Madara left.

As for the person naruto 627 watching the battle, we know somebody else was present at the scene of the duel: Mito Uzumaki. She was the one who sealed the kyuubi within herself to help hashirama, but we don’t know her relation to Madara. Maybe she loved Madara but had to marry hashirama because as the future jinchuuriki she was expected to marry the hokage. After the battle she could have used some weird uzumaki jutsu to restore madara or something? lol, just a guess.

I think the only clue about how Madara survived the last stand against Hashirama is the body. If it was an Izanagi then not only would the death body disappear but the user would loose one sharingan in the process. Neither happened so its safe to say that it wasnt Izanagi. In fact, it couldnt been any other type of genjutsu either bcs the body did not disappear.

As it was stated, it could have been a splitting-body technique. When Hashirama was taming Kyuubi Madara had perfect opportunity to split himself into 2 bodies, that would be one guess. However, it seems like there was a large portion of battle cut out from the moment when Hashirama landed before Madara bcs at that time theyre armores were in tact and then suddenly they were all torn up.

It also seems that Kishimoto is planning to keep Madaras MS jutsus a “question mark” for the time being. He could have shown something else beside Susanoo in these flashbacks, which is very strange that he didnt. Now we do not know if he had the same “set” as Itachi/Sasuke or a different type like Obito. I think Tsukyiomi and Susanoo are a given, but then there should be 2 other. Maybe one of those MS jutsus has something to do with how he survived. Anyhow, Im pretty sure he doesnt have Amaterasu bcs it would be a very powerfull weapon against Hashiramas wooden jutsus.
